Operation Quilted Comfort
This committee previously have made quilts and sent them to Ft. Hood, Texas, to Vets there. I have investigated helping some of our soldiers in our area. Plans are to have three workshop this year with kits to sew and as soon as we get together. We want to do these projects without it affecting our guild budget at all so here is what you can do to help:
Last meeting we had 26 ladies sign up to help make quilts, pillow cases and laundry bags for Vets at the VA Hospital in Bonham and VA Plano Outpatient Clinic. I have have the sign up sheets out at each meeting

- From Your Stash - donate red, white, blue and patriotic fabrics.
- From Your Batting - Cuttings from batting that can be put together to make batting for these wheelchair quilts. The long strips from the quilts you get back from the long arm quilters. Whole batts you have decided not to use.
- From Your Time at Workshops - We will be holding 3 guild free workshops this year. Please sign up with contact information to be notified of time and place to see if you can come. Just bring your sewing machines, neutral thread, and lots of pre-wound bobbins. Kits will be set up ready to sew.
- From Your Time at Home - Some have asked if they can make their donations at home instead of coming to the workshop and YES you may. What your newsletters for time and place. We will need sewers, pressers, quilters, and binders.
